22 NOVEMBER 2018 David is off to Quito, Ecuador to participate in the 2018 PanAmerican Biennial of Architecture. In addition to serving as a jury member for the bi-annual design competition, David is also delivering two talks, one about Preservation Park and 274 Bragg Ave, and the other titled “ENGAGING TIME: Local Stories, Site Histories, and Regional Phenologies” that describes the design approach of the studio.

06 NOVEMBER 2018 We’re off to Faunsdale, Alabama to lend a helping hand to Rural Studio’s Faunsdale Community Center crew. Fifteen Redbud trees [Cercis canadensis] arrive today at the community center to be planted into a sweet grove. If you’re in the area, bring a shovel!

15 JUNE 2018 After months of preparation, David is finally in Ecuador with students from the Graduate Landscape Architecture Program at Auburn University. They’ll spend the next four and a half weeks in the Galapagos Islands exploring landscape design strategies that appropriately engage the 30,000 residents currently living in the archipelago.

24 MAY 2018 Milwaukee’s Preservation Park within the Historic Pabst Brewery Complex is awarded a 2018 Mayor’s Design Award, which praises projects that contribute design excellence to the urban landscape of Milwaukee.
